Flooding and Water Damage Restoration in North Bend, OR

SERVPRO of Coos, Curry & Del Norte Counties has specialty drying equipment!

Sometimes we run in to situations where our specialty drying equipment is extremely beneficial.

We recently were called out to a home that was a 2 story home, with continuous hardwood and tile flooring. The upper level has a tile floor bathroom and the rest of the flooring is oak hardwood planks. We were able to set up specialty drying equipment that allowed the flooring and sub-flooring to be dried in place! The only repairs necessary for this loss will be filling and painting holes in the downstairs ceiling where we placed the injectidry tubing to dry the entire upper level, and replacing insulation in the crawlspace. We set up drying equipment in the crawlspace to dry the lower level without removing the wet materials.

The home was able to remain occupied during the restoration process, with minimal disturbance to the occupants.

Our Restoration Process

Every water damage event is a little different and requires a unique solution, but the general process stays the same. The steps listed below illustrate our process for the “typical” water damage emergency.

1.  Emergency Contact

The restoration process begins when you call us. Our consultant will guide you through the crisis and may ask several questions to help us better understand the equipment and resources that may be needed.

2. Inspection and Damage Assessment

We determine the scope of your water damage at this stage is crucial to developing a plan of action. We inspect and test the damaged area to determine the extent of damage and how far the moisture has traveled to ensure proper and complete restoration.

3. Water Removal / Water Extraction

Typically, hundreds or thousands of gallons of water are removed using our powerful pumps and vacuums during the water removal process. We start this process as soon as possible to minimize further damage and to help prevent mold growth.

4. Drying and Dehumidification

After the bulk of the water has been removed, we use specialized equipment to target the water that’s harder to access. Our Professionals use less intrusive, scientific drying methods to draw the remaining water and moisture from your property with air movers and dehumidifiers.

5. Cleaning and Sanitizing

Water damage also affects your belongings, like furniture, clothing, and personal items. We can clean restorable items using a number of specialized cleaning techniques. We also disinfect with antimicrobial treatments and remove odors using industrial air scrubbers and fogging equipment.

6. Restoration

The last step is restoring your home or business back to its pre-water damage condition. The restoration step can be relatively minor, such as replacing a few drywall panels, or could include major reconstruction, such as rebuilding entire rooms of a home or business.
